The Gardners: November 2012

When I came back to America, I told myself I would post a little something on the blog every day. Man, I have failed at that!! It's time for me to recap what happened during Halloween!

First, we got a nice "treat" when Matt's mom came down with her dad, "Grandpa McKelvey," to share in some of the holiday festivities. We all got together with Shannon, Ashley, Steve, Carrie, and the boys to pick and carve some pumpkins.

We also had fun at a Halloween festival at Lochlan's school. All the kids were able to dress up, play games, and get an early start on eating candy!

Afterwards, we carved up our pumpkins that we had bought. In the background, The Nightmare Before Christmas was on the TV and the little ones were playing. After I left, they roasted pumpkin seeds and they turned out delicious! (I tried them the next day.) The trick is to butter them first, and add LOTS of salt! ;) Yum!

The girls were really lucky that they were able to wear their costumes multiple times this year (and I'm glad too!) First we had trunk or treat at the church, then there was the real trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Ashley's family was kind enough to welcome us over that night to eat, get ready, and go trick-or-treating in the neighborhood! It was a lot of fun!!
